Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. George Bernard Shaw
I had such a great time doing this photoshoot with Julie! Not only is she professional and talented but she’s super down to earth and makes you feel like you’re just hanging out with a friend. She really helped me relax and enjoy myself during the shoot, and helped guide and direct me into the most flattering poses! (Have you seen the one with the cleavage and booty!? I couldn’t have managed that by myself!) I traveled from Atlanta to do my photoshoot and it was definitely worth the drive (and an easy trip). I love the photos she captured soooo much! I plan on doing another boudoir shoot with her soon! Everyone should give it a try!

Bare (it) all ;
to reveal everything
When baring it all for the camera, you want to be in a comfortable environment with someone who is trustworthy and who is in it for your best interest. Working with Julie is relaxing as well as uplifting. You do not have to think you are the most beautiful woman in the world because she will help bring that out from inside of you. We all want to feel good in our own skin, and sometimes being nude makes that difficult. As you can tell, Julie knows her way around the camera. But more than that, I find that talented female photographers such as Julie know more about how women want to feel when they see their images. You do not have to be proficient in posing, nor do you have to be a certain size for Julie to be able to capture you beautifully in such a raw state. She can easily work within your range and get a feel for how you perceive yourself all the while making it fun and memorable. There is no stress during her sessions – only stunning representations of your natural self.

Note from Julie:
A few months ago, I posted an article about not having to take your clothes off for boudoir sessions. I wanted to present the other side as well. I truly believe that allowing yourself to be as free as possible during your sessions will harvest the most intimate of photos. As I have mentioned several times, it doesn't always mean that you'll be 100% nude in the images but the freedom of being nude is allowing yourself to "reveal everything." In this day of filters, sometimes, we need to get back to the rawness of beauty that is in each of us.
You might've noticed that I've included a lot of images with REALLY AMAZING wardrobe! If you are interested in any of the wardrobe as well as some of the furniture featured, please feel free to follow my good friend Olyvea with VintageJunkie.
Olyvea also helped hook me up with this amazing house in Chattanooga. This was the official last session at that location so I wanted to make he best of it! Sad that I don't have access to it anymore BUT more fun locations are around the corner! Also, thanks to Brad!!
I wanted to do a “Love is Love” shoot for a while, so when I brought up the idea and Julie said she was interested, that was all I needed to hear. Seeing Julie’s style was exactly what I had envisioned. I was able to work alongside with fellow model Astrid to show the beauty of love and that our love (the love between two women) looks the no different from any other couple. Love looks the same no matter the gender. Julie managed to perfectly capture the beauty, elegance and sensuality. Doing this shoot was everything I didn’t know I needed, it was fun, comforting and so so worth it. She has a way of truly helping you see a whole new side of yourself.

WARNING: There are a ton of amazing photos in this gallery. I couldn't pick just a few.
Our society tells us that we’re sexier the more clothes we take off, but we can be sexy without baring all. Sexy is a way we feel about ourselves. Julie Hunter understands that people cherish the photographs of themselves reflecting who they are. The best photographs will capture ourselves in our proudest moments, and that we can look back on to remember we’re beautiful the way we are. Sometimes clothes are a prop for tantalizing the eye to our favorite features. Sometimes clothes highlight a facet of our personality that’s otherwise mysterious. Style gives a little extra context to our body language. Maybe it’s the way the fabric and construction touch us or the feelings we attach to dressing up that brings out the lover, passion, and confidence in us. Our bodies are gorgeous just the way they are. They don’t need to be clothed to look better. Style is another way of expressing selflove and demonstrating what makes us feel sexy. Shooting with Julie will put your mind at ease. You only need to be yourself, and Julie will take a good photograph. No need to worry about your best side because Julie’s going to take amazing photos of you no matter the side. Dress up or down the way you’ve always wanted, and see how sexy you look when you’re happy with yourself.

I have worked with Astrid only a handful of times but every conversation with her is a refreshing look at the photography industry and empowerment. I spoke to her about this particular project with my boudoir that I wanted to flesh out that included NOT wearing lingerie or bearing it all. She gladly participated and got the styling help of Brittani Bumb of Untitled Thoughts as well as hair & makeup by Jashley Paulina of Atlanta (Follow her on IG). Not to mention, the session is set inside the greenhouse that is beside the Candler Mansion in Decatur. Rumor has it that the structure will be torn down soon.
What is the point of my post? I have clients who love to wear nothing at all to those who are too modest for even some lingerie. I wanted to encourage anyone interested in a boudoir but thought they might be too shy to consider doing a session like the one I have featured here with Astrid. Boudoir isn't just about taking your clothes off, though it is encouraged. It is about taking away your self doubt, your inhibitions, your low self esteem. Its about trusting your photography to show you exactly who you are already are, inside. Also, Astrid has given about 2 dozen ways to pose in this one session! She is an amazing mentor to models in the industry. I really appreciate her professionalism and her heart.
I've posted these images a few times when I first had this session in May of 2017 but I wanted to finally put them all together in one blog post as well as include a behind the scenes video that we made while there. My daughter, Gabriella assisted in most of the footage.
Thank you to the entire team that put this together. I could NOT be happier with the outcome.
